The service was slow but the food was good and fresh. The drinks were nice and cold and I couldn't complain!

Ah, Copelands! Once upon a time, the Copelands location in Charlotte was my culinary kingdom. After it closed, I made dining their a priority whenever visiting Atlanta. Their Sunday brunches and were the highlights of many weekends. The corn bisque soup was always the superstar on the menu...but now it's seemingly on the D-list. When I stumbled up on the Shreveport location during a work trip, I couldn't resist a trip down memory lane. The atmosphere was relaxed and very quiet, most likely because it was a late lunch on a weekday. The service was as quick and efficient. I settled in the bar area for my solo lunch, ready to relive the glory days with a half poboy and that infamous soup. The corn bisque was still flavorful, but it was lacking the robust depth I remembered. It was more faucet flow than hearty hug. Times have indeed changed. Despite the soup slip-up, my love for Copelands remains. Maybe it was an off day, but I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I'll be back, spoon in hand, hoping for a hearty helping of the legendary corn bisque.

First time visiting Copeland, the ambience was very tranquil and the crash and burn cocktail was delicious! My fiancé had the seafood platter and I had the blackened crab cakes with shrimp sauce, both delicious! Most cajun restaurants I've visited the food tastes like they dumped cajun seasoning on the food and called it good. You can tell the chefs prepared this food as one would expect cajun food to be prepared, not overly seasoned but a perfect balance of seasoning to perfection. Loved the place, i would definitely return.
